Based in the Adelaide Hills, Mick has been part of the local scene for over 25 years, doing his own distinctive style of "Slidin' Stompin" Acoustic Blues. Apart from being a hard worker, he's got some serious credibility- as a multiple award winner in the “FOOM” (Festival of Original Music) competition held annually by S.C.A.L.A. (Songwriters, Composers & Lyricists Assoc.)- also being the lead guitarist for both the Adelaide & Darwin Symphony Orchestra’s ” Pink Floyd Tribute” events in 2008 & 2016. This has been followed up in 2015 winning the inaugural Adelaide Roots & Blues Assoc.- “Memphis Blues Challenge” ( solo/duo)-representing South Aust. on the world stage in Memphis U.S.A. in Jan. 2016.Together Mick & Dave reached the quarter finals after performing 3 nights at the iconic Jerry Lee Lewis Cafe & Honky Tonk “12 Bar” on Beale Street. "What is primarily on show here is the exemplary guitar playing, but in the context of supporting not dominating the songs-anyone who enjoys some blues guitar will find much to like"- ADRIAN MILLER-S.C.A.L.A. - Adelaide, South Australia.
Harmonica legend (and Christmas Pageant float designer) Dave Blight, known mostly for his work with Cold Chisel, performed with Mick Kidd with a kick ass blues set that included Robert Leroy Johnson and Steve Winwood covers. Both masters of their craft, they let loose with a wall of thunderous blues that set the place on fire. Posted by Darren Hassan on Jul 14th, 2015 Glamadelaide Review
